Stepdaughter Shot Dead, Mother Critical

Guerino Annarumma, 52, is charged in the shootings

A 25-year-old woman has died after being shot by her stepfather inside her Queens home Monday morning, police say.

Valeria Kuzmina was shot in the head and torso, and her mother Olga Annarumma, 57, was shot in the head on the first floor of their Astoria home at about 9 a.m., according to police.

Olga Annarumma's estranged husband, 52-year-old Guerino Annarumma was arrested in the shootings.

Olga Annarumma and Guerino Annarumma were in the middle of divorce proceedings, and the case was scheduled for trial Monday, according to Olga Annarumma's divorce attorney.

"That's why this happened," claims Helene Sherman. "It happened this morning because the case was scheduled for 2 p.m. He did not want her testifying."

"He felt whatever she was going to say was going to somehow insult his pride," Sherman added.

Guerino Annarumma was taken in for questioning after the incident, and was charged Monday night.

Guerino Annarumma had stalked and threatened his wife in the past, which led to a judge issuing a restraining order in 2009. The restraining order was expired when Guerino Annarumma allegedly shot his estranged wife Monday.

According to the criminal complaint, Guerino Annarumma in 2009 called Annarumma and threatened to kill her if she did not have sex with him.

In his own blog online, Guerino Annarumma ranted, "I always loved you from the first day I met you in 2001, until 2009, then you got me arrested for nothing, ruined my reputation and broke my heart. God will make you pay."

Guerino Annarumma was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. There was no immediate information about his attorney.
