Alleged Bank Robber Waits In Line, Points Plastic Bag at Teller: Police

Police have released surveillance video of a man in allegedly robbing a Long Island bank by showing the teller a note and putting his hand inside a blue plastic bag and pointing it at the bank worker.

The man, thought to be in his mid- to late 30s, is seen on video waiting in line at the TD Bank branch on Long Beach Road in Oceanside on Saturday, Nov. 30, according to police.

He repeatedly pulls down his blue knit cap over his head and pulls up some sort of scarf or neckwear over his face as he waits.

When he approaches the teller, he places the plastic bag on the counter, with his hand inside the bag. He shows the teller a piece of paper, which police say was a note demanding money.

Police say he also verbally demanded cash. He then walked out of the bank.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
