Man Killed in New Jersey Hit-and-Run Crash

A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in New Jersey early Saturday morning, police said. 

Officials say the man was crossing Williams Avenue in Lodi around 3 a.m. when the driver, heading eastbound, struck him and kept going. Another driver discovered the man lying in the middle of the road.
 
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. 
 
Police said a piece of the wheel well belonging to the car which struck the man was discovered at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
 
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call police.
