Local Starbucks Creates Shrine for Homeless Man

A purple velvet chair at a suburban Starbucks in New York has been transformed into a shrine for a customer who found companionship at the cafe.

Employees at the Starbucks in Nyack say Fleming Taylor was homeless and would arrive when the doors opened. He would stay until closing time.

The employees and acquaintances say his body was found Wednesday under a stairwell where he lived, but police did not immediately confirm the man's identity.

Nevertheless, the chair has been cordoned off with black ribbons and bouquets rest on the plush seat in honor of Taylor.

Starbucks Assitant Manager Mark Horwitz said Taylor was a warmhearted man -- and a paying customer. He said people would give him gift cards for the cafe.
