Livery Cab Driver Shot, Killed on Bronx Street: Police

A livery cab driver was found shot dead on a Bronx street early Tuesday, and police are searching for the killer.

The 49-year-old driver was found with a gunshot wound to the head on the 3400 block of Hunter Avenue in Eastchester at about 5:30 a.m., police say.

A spokesman for the livery cab drivers union identified the driver as Maoudo Kane and says his cab was stolen after the deadly shooting.

The union, New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Police have not identified any suspects.
