1. MTA Holds Emergency Meeting to Discuss New L-Train Plan

The MTA held an emergency board meeting to discuss Gov. Cuomo’s recently announced plan to avoid a full L-train shutdown.

The L train was supposed to shut down completely for 15-months for Hurricane Sandy-related repairs, but Cuomo earlier this month announced a new L train subway tunnel design that will eliminate a full shutdown.

Since Cuomo’s announcement, however, safety and other concerns have been raised about the new plan.

2. Netflix Announces Biggest Price Increase Ever

Netflix is raising its U.S. prices by 13 percent to 18 percent, its biggest increase since the company launched its streaming service 12 years ago.

Its most popular plan will see the largest hike, to $13 per month from $11.

That option offers high-definition streaming on up to two different internet-connected devices simultaneously.

3. Spielberg Taps Unknown NJ Teen as Maria in West Side Remake

Steven Spielberg has cast an unknown 17-year-old from New Jersey to play Maria in his remake of "West Side Story."

Deadline first reported Monday the director picked Rachel Zegler after auditioning more than 30,000 hopefuls.

The high school student from Clifton posted photos of herself and other cast members on Instagram as she expressed her gratitude.
