1. Father of Sandy Hook Victim Dead of Apparent Suicide

The father of one of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre took his own life Monday morning at Edmond Town Hall, in Newtown, according to police.

Emergency crews responded to the building at 45 Main St. that house a theater as well as meetings rooms around 7 a.m. for the report of a suicide.

Paramedics found Jeremy Richman, 49, of Newtown, dead at that location, police said.

2. New Jersey Calls Off Vote to Legalize Recreational Pot

Lawmakers were poised to vote on making New Jersey the 11th state to legalize recreational marijuana, but in the end the vote was called off and it is unclear when the bill will be revisted.

The Democrat-led Assembly and Senate initially scheduled the vote for Monday — more than a year of mostly back-room wrangling since Gov. Murphy came into office.

Murphy campaigned on legalization, in contrast with his predecessor, Republican Chris Christie.

Bar patrons in New York's Greenwich Village were in the right place at the right time when Adele and Jennifer Lawrence showed up.

The Daily News reports Grammy-winning singer Adele and her Oscar-winning actress pal hit the gay bar Pieces on Friday night, to the delight of the crowd.
