1. NYC Councilman to Host Gender-Segregated Beach Days for Jews, Muslims Following Modesty Laws

A New York City councilman is drawing attention with a plan to segregate beaches by gender. 

The councilman says he is renting out the beach at Kingsborough Community College for two days this summer so Muslim and Jewish New Yorkers can get a day in the surf. 

He says many of the his Muslim and Jewish constituents that follow modesty laws have never been to the beach. 

The beach day for men will be June 28 and the day for women will be on July 27.

2. Puerto Rican Day Parade Is Sunday; Street Closures Announced

Boricua! The Puerto Rican Day parade is this weekend. 

The annual demonstration of cultural pride will celebrate its 61st year on Sunday in Midtown.  

This year's parade will take on extra significance as Puerto Rico continues to recover from the devastation left behind from Hurricane Maria, which researchers estimated could have been responsible for more than 4,000 deaths.

3. New York Has the Most 'Bridezillas' in the Country: Ranking

New York City bridesmaids -- you could be in for a rude awakening for that upcoming wedding. 

New York apparently has the most "bridezillas" in the nation, according to a new study. 

Researchers found more than half of all New York brides gave specific instructions to their bridesmaids about jewelry and shoes. 

Even worse -- nearly a third told their wedding party what kind of tans to have.
