1. Nor'easter to Slam Tri-State With Rain, Strong Winds

Have weekend plans? May want to reevaluate.

Storm Team 4 says a powerful nor'easter is expected to besiege the tri-state area for up to 24 hours, lashing the region with wind gusts up to 50 mph and up to 2 inches of rain by the time the system moves out.

Friday, meteorologists say, will be the calm before the storm. Highs will settle in the 50s for much of the day with lingering clouds and not much sunshine.

2. Basketball Team Throws Party for Lonely Birthday Boy

Remember that kid who had a birthday party and nobody showed up? Well, he got a pretty awesome do-over. 

Phoenix Suns saw the picture of him all alone at a pizza place and invited him to a game. 

He even got to meet the team's mascot and the one of the team's rising stars, Josh Jackson.

Halloween is getting close and if you are looking for the best place to celebrate you won't have to look very far. 

Wallethub ranked New York City as the very best place in America for the holiday. Jersey City claimed the No. 2 spot. 

They based the ranking on things like the number of costume stores and average price of a Halloween party ticket.
