Two people were shot inside a liquor store in Newark Tuesday night, police said.

It's not clear if the victims were customers or employees of the store at 153 Irvine Turner Blvd., near 18th Avenue.

They were taken to University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in serious but stable condition.

Police are investigating.
