Lauren Spierer's Mother Hurt by Letter Seeking Poster Removal

Charlene Spierer says she found the anonymous letter in a top box dedicated to search for Lauren

The mother of an Indiana University student missing since June says she was hurt by an anonymous letter complaining about Bloomington being littered with search posters.

Charlene Spierer says she found the unsigned letter when checking the Bloomington post office box set up to receive tips about what happened to 20-year-old Lauren Spierer.

The Herald-Times reports that Spierer's message was posted Thursday on a website dedicated to the search.

Spierer says she wishes she had never needed to put up any posters about her missing daughter. She says she hopes the letter writer never faces such a situation.

Spierer also writes that she is grateful for the community's support during the search. The Greenburgh, N.Y., woman disappeared June 3 after a night out with friends in downtown Bloomington.
