Trial Set for Civil Negligence Lawsuit Against Lauren Spierer's Friends

Lauren Spierer vanished on June 3, 2011, after a night out with friends

A jury trial in a federal lawsuit against two men who were with a 20-year-old Indiana University student from Westchester before she vanished in 2011 has been scheduled for next spring.

Judge Tanya Walton Pratt last week set the trial in the lawsuit by Lauren Spierer's parents for May 4, 2015.

Spierer, a Greenburgh, N.Y., native, disappeared in June 2011 after a night of partying with friends in Bloomington.

Her parents claim in their lawsuit that Jason Rosenbaum and Corey Rossman gave her alcohol and didn't make sure she returned safely to her apartment, leading to her presumed death.

Attorneys for Rosenbaum and Rossman claim there's no proof that Lauren Spierer isn't still alive.

The case has been marked by a blizzard of back-and-forth court motions.
