Kennel Club: Labrador Retriever is Top Dog Again

AKC celebrates 125th anniversary

Manhattan went to the dogs on Wednesday -- the top dogs, in fact.

And the results are in: America's most popular purebred dog -- for the 18th straight year -- is the Labrador Retriever.

The Yorkshire Terrier is second, and the German Shepherd is third.

Rounding out the top five are the Golden Retriever and the beagle.

The American Kennel Club announced the rankings at its Midtown headquarters, and has been doing so for 125 years.
