Long Island Man Threatens Neighbor, Points 2 Guns at Officers

Police say a Long Island man has been arrested after he threatened a neighbor with a gun and pointed two guns at responding officers.

The incident started before 9 p.m. Friday in East Meadow.

Nassau County police say 49-year-old Jason Wissel and a neighbor were arguing over a parking issue. Police say Wissel threatened the neighbor with a gun.

Police say officers arrived at Wissel's house and he pointed a rifle and a sawed-off shotgun at them. The officers fired at Wissel and disarmed him.

Police say officers searched the house and found additional weapons and ammunition.

Wissel was arrested on charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was treated for minor injuries.

It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
