Judge Tears Up in Queens Pedophile Sentencing: Report

A Queens judge had to dab tears from his eyes Monday as he sentenced a pedophile in what he called the most repulsive case had ever presided over, according to published reports.

Judge Richard L. Butcher sentenced Kerbet Dixon to between 25 and 32 years for sexually abusing two of his wife’s adolescent nieces at his home in Queens in 2008 and 2009, the Daily News reports.

“In 27 years on the bench, I have not seen a more repulsive case,” Butcher said, according to the Daily News. “Justice is a poor replacement … the lengthy prison sentence I propose will not restore the sweet innocence of the child.”

Dixon, 50, is a former court officer and assistant coach at a Manhattan high school, the Daily News reports. Last month, he was convicted of abusing the girls, who were 14 and 10 at the time, and of more than 480 counts of possession of child pornography.

Dixon plans to appeal Butcher’s sentence, the man’s attorney told the Daily News.
