Men Walk Into Airport Car Rental Lot, Take Camaros, Mustang for Joyrides: Police

Four men entered a rental car business at Newark Liberty International Airport and drove three Chevrolet Camaros and a Ford Mustang without permission, authorities say.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials say the men walked into a Budget car rental lot around 3 a.m. Sunday and entered the Camaros and Mustang using keys already in the cars.

Workers confronted them and they tried to flee in the cars they had used to get to the lot, but Port Authority police arrived and started questioning them. Police say they smelled marijuana coming from one of the cars and found a joint in the center console.

Authorities say they also recovered a loaded handgun.

Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said Tuesday Shiemere King, Steven Constant, Barnabas Dorcely and Jordan Ford face handgun, marijuana and theft-by-means-of-conveyance charges. Devon Fields and Derrick Crenshaw Jr. face handgun and marijuana charges.

Attorney information was unavailable.
