Brothers Stole Jewelry from Home While Working Construction: Police

Police on Long Island say they've arrested two brothers who stole thousands of dollars of jewelry from a home where they were working construction.

Nassau County police say the brothers, Christopher Picone, 22, and Victor Picone, 24, were working in a home on Long Beach Road in Oceanside last month.

Detectives say the pair stole $3,500 worth of jewelry from a bedroom and sold the items to secondhand jewelry dealers.

The suspects were arrested on Friday.

Both are charged with second-degree burglary and criminal possession of stolen property.

They were set to be arraigned Saturday. Authorities could not immediately say whether they had attorneys.
