Shocking! “James Bond” Burglars May Be Back in NJ

The break-in artists ransack homes for cash and jewelry and leave in two minutes.

The burglary ring known as the James Bond Gang appears to be back, Bergen County authorities said.

Cops say there have been 40 burglaries in New York and New Jersey since 2009 that fit the group's pattern -- most of them in the last six months.

The break-in artists are known to stalk wealthy neighborhoods, sometimes in rented luxury cars. They ransack homes for cash and jewelry and leave in two minutes -- sometimes with $50,000 to $100,000 in proceeds. (No used martini glasses have been reported left at the scene.)

Three alleged members were arrested in Somerset County last week.

Detectives tell The Record newspaper they are trying to determine whether the recent break-ins are the work of the notorious James Bond Gang that terrorized northern New Jersey and New York 20 years ago - or copycats.
