Mom Who Lost 3 Daughters in Wrong-Way Crash Blames Self

A woman whose three young daughters were killed in a 2009 wrong-way drunken-driving crash on a New York highway says she still blames herself for the tragedy.

Jackie Hance tells NBC's Ann Curry in a video segment released Wednesday as a mother it's difficult not to blame herself for their deaths. She says she feels she was supposed to protect them.

Hance's 5-, 7- and 8-year-old daughters were riding in a van driven by their aunt when it slammed into another vehicle after traveling the wrong way on the highway for nearly two miles.

Aunt Diane Schuler, her daughter and three men in the other vehicle also were killed.

Investigators determined Schuler was intoxicated and had been smoking marijuana.

The interview will air Friday on NBC's "Today" and "Rock Center with Brian Williams" programs.
