Man Detained at JFK After Security Breach

A security guard was apparently checking on a construction vehicle at the checkpoint when the man passed through

Police say a shirtless man was detained after passing through a security checkpoint at New York's Kennedy Airport.

No criminal charges were immediately filed.

The Port Authority police say the man passed unchecked through a checkpoint at Terminal 3 at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.

A security guard was apparently checking on a construction vehicle at the checkpoint when the man passed through.

The man, identified as 50-year-old Faud Jalal Jaber, was being assessed by psychologists.

His address was not immediately known, but authorities say he has a valid U.S. passport.

Police also say a person with the same name was detained by Royal Jordanian air marshals on Tuesday for causing a disturbance on board a Jordan to N.Y. flight.
