Food Website Ranks These Tri-State Italian Restaurants as Some of the Best in the US

In the mood for an Italian dinner?

A new list has ranked a couple of popular tri-state Italian restaurants as some of the best in the country.

The Daily Meal’s “Best Italian Restaurant in Every State” reports New York City’s Del Posto is the crown jewel when it comes to the Italian restaurant scene. Located in New York’s meatpacking industry, The Daily Meal claims the result of the eatery is a “collaboration between Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich, and Mario Batali.” The New York Times recently gave the restaurant four stars.

In New Jersey, head to Elizabeth for your top choice of Italian food, The Daily Meal says. Spirito’s, a cash-only restaurant owned by the Spirito family since 1932, is known for three of its items on the menu: homemade ravioli, veal parm that doesn’t even fit on the plate and the thin-crust pizza. Oh, one more thing: be sure to bring your own butter for your bread.

In Connecticut, the ever-so-famous Frank Pepe in New Haven tops The Daily Meal’s list for the Nutmeg State. This long-lined restaurant offers classic Napoletana-style pizza, according to The Daily Meal. If you go, try their specialty White Clam pizza. The Daily Meal recently ranked the pizzeria as America’s best.
