SI Residents: Homes Damaged, But Mail Gets Through

New Dorp Beach resident Susan Sheehan says her mail carrier is "a superhero"

Staten Island residents say they're impressed by the postal workers who've been delivering mail in hard-hit neighborhoods.

New Dorp Beach resident Susan Sheehan says her mail carrier is "a superhero." She says he climbs around debris and makes sure her packages stay clean and dry.

Some residents have been returning to their damaged homes to pick up their mail. Having it held at the post office is another option.

Mail carrier Jessica Grady tells the Staten Island Advance that the storm has made her job physically challenging.

Grady also says it's been emotionally tough. She feels attached to her customers, and seeing their damaged homes upsets her.
