A construction worker stumbled upon the skeletal remains

Human remains have been found in a wooded area in Roxbury, N.J., authorities said Wednesday.

A construction worker stumbled upon the skeletal remains, which police say have been in the woods for some time. The age and sex of the person aren't yet known.

The remains were discovered near Route 46, according to Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Police Chief James Simonetti.

Investigators set up a tent and worked at the scene late into the night. They plan to test the soil as part of their forensic work.
