Remains Found in Parsippany ID'd as Missing 14-Year-Old Girl

A landscaper working on Sylvan Drive made the grisly discovery in April

Authorities have identified human remains found in a bag on the side of a New Jersey road as those of a 14-year-old girl reported missing in 2008, prosecutors said.

A landscaper working on Sylvan Drive in Parsippany, a little more than a mile from the intersection of Interstates 80 and 287, made the grisly discovery in April.

Authorities conferred with a forensic anthropologist and missing persons databases to develop a profile of the victim, who dental records confirmed to be Greta Tim.

Tim was reported missing on Aug. 1, 2008 by her mother. She had been living in Irvington and was 14 years old at the time.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
