NBC 4 New York to Host Three Mayoral Debates in 2013

The station will also host a debate for the public advocate's race

UPDATE: The date of the final mayoral debate has been changed from Tuesday, Oct. 29 to Wednesday, Oct. 30.

With New Yorkers set to pick a new mayor for the first time in 12 years, NBC 4 New York is pleased to announce we will be co-sponsoring three mayoral debates this election year. 

The New York City Campaign Finance Board released the sponsors and schedule for New York City's 2013 election debates on Thursday, selecting the sponsorship group of NBC 4 New York, Telemundo Nueva York and The Wall Street Journal to host four debates, three for the mayor's race and one for the public advocate.

“NBC 4 New York is proud to be a 2013 CFB debate sponsor and host,” said Michael Jack, president and general manager of NBC 4 New York.  “Along with our sister station, Telemundo Nueva York, we look forward to welcoming the candidates to 30 Rock, where they will have an opportunity to deliver their respective visions for the city and answer questions from our unrivaled team of journalists."

The debates NBC 4 New York will host are as follows:

  • The Democratic public advocate primary debate on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 11:30 a.m.
     
  • The Democratic mayoral primary debate on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
     
  • The Republican mayoral primary debate on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 11:30 a.m.
     
  • The general election mayoral debate on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
