A horse had to be rescued after it somehow ended up in a cesspool on Long Island.
Officials say the horse fell into the cesspool that has collapsed just before 4 Thursday evening in Islip Terrace. When police arrived, they say they found it up to its neck in water and waste.
The horse was drowning and rescued about an hour later. Several fire departments and the SPCA joined forces to help pull the animal out. There is no word yet on the horse’s condition.
