Spitzer's Hooker Booker Gets Yen for Zen

Spitzer madame takes act upstate for Thurman family

When applying for a position as a booking agent at the Thurman family's Buddhism retreat center in upstate New York, Tanya Hollander left something off her resume--she was the woman who booked call girls for the Emperors Club VIP, the hooker agency that former Gov. Eliot Spitzer used and led to his downfall.

Birgitte Thurman, who is actress Uma Thurman's mother and runs the Menla Mountain Retreat in upstate New York, was unaware of Hollander's recent past when she hired her to manage the retreat. She must have been meditating during the months-long scandal that caused Eliot Spitzer to resign from office in total disgrace after it was revealed that he'd hired Ashley Dupre for a sex romp during a trip to Washington, DC.

"She was referred to us through contacts in [New York] as a capable administrator, and it's an unfortunate situation for everyone since she's been doing a very good job for us," Thurman told The Phoenicia Times, as related in the New York Post.

Hollander avoided a potential 10-month jail term, after a judge decided to avoid unequal treatment of all involved in the case. Spitzer recently was spared any prosecution for hiring a prostitute. The former hooker booker, Hollander, lives in the small town of Rhinebeck, NY in the Hudson Valley.

The Menla Mountain Retreat is described as a "space to promote the deep investigation of silence, peace, sanity, and healing."
