Authorities are investigating after a 69-year-old Long Island man returned home to find his 67-year-old wife dead on the kitchen floor and his son unconscious on a couch Tuesday, police said.
The husband found his wife on the floor of their Knolls Drive kitchen in New Hyde Park shortly before 6:30 p.m.; the man's 44-year-old son was unconscious on the couch and in need of medical assistance, according to police.
The son was taken to a hospital in guarded condition.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
