The Holocaust-Denier Comes to Town

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad brings his hateful lies to the Big Apple

He calls the Holocaust a lie. It never happened, he says.

And, he has come to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly.

Even as he prepared to leave for New York, he declared again that the killing of 6 million European Jews by Adolf Hitler was a lie.

But it is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, who is the liar. He denies the evidence of history. He buys into the propaganda of enemies of the United States and Israel who beat the drums of Holocaust denial to try to diminish America and the Jewish people.

That he comes to this city -- home to many Jewish families who lost thousands of relatives in Nazi extermination camps -- compounds the lie. In plain New York language, this guy is a bum. He doesn’t deserve the platform he is getting Wednesday at the UN.

The preamble to the UN Charter states that ‘’we the peoples of the United Nations’’ are establishing this organization “determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war… to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person…to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors,”

This man has trampled on human rights in his own country, stealing an election, slaying and maiming thousands of protesters, and shaming his regime before the world.

Ahmadinejad's spokesman said that the Iranian president is bringing a message of ‘’peace and friendship for all the nations.” He has an odd way of demonstrating this philosophy. Some of his "friendly" words:

“Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation’s fury.,,,”

“How can you prove that you are not a bad person? You can’t prove that…”

”Remove Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations…”

“Israel is a rotten, dried tree that will be annihilated in one storm.."

“There is no significant need for the United States...”

There will be a rally outside the UN on Thursday sponsored by a coalition of groups opposed to Ahmadinejad, including Iranians, human rights activists, women’s advocates and Jewish organizations. A coalition leader, Michael Miller, said: “We will be raising our voices and appealing to the conscience of the world to recognize the danger of this regime to all people.”
