Hoboken Elementary School Evacuated After “Gas Problem”

An elementary school in Hoboken, N.J., has been evacuated because of a "gas problem," authorities said.

Most of the students from Wallace Elementary School were evacuated to Hoboken High School, while pre-kindergarten children were taken to a senior center, according to the district website.

Parents were told they could pick up their children early or get them at the end of the day from the Wallace playground.

The Hoboken Fire Department said the evacuation was due to a gas odor.
