New Jersey High School Football Rivalry Erupts Into Brawl on the Field

In New Jersey, a high school football game ended with an ugly incident on Thanksgiving.

As Thursday's match up between Hackensack and Teaneck came to a thrilling finish, emotions bubbled over and players started fighting on the field.

Video captured of the incident shows victory cheers turning to yelling after Hackensack came from behind to win the game 19-18.

Crowds are seen taking over the field in Teaneck, with a Hackensack player trying to plant a gold flag midfield. That action was met with aggression from Teaneck players, sparking an all-out brawl.

"A Teaneck player hit one of the Hackensack players midfield, and before you know it there's a hundred people on the field just either breaking up the fight or in the fight," witness Michael D'Onofrio said.

He said he wasn't completely surprised, because the rivalry between the two teams goes back decades.
