Steamy Weather Persists in Tri-State Region

Storms and showers moving through the tri-state area Sunday night apparently will do little to cool down the region.

The rain is expected to occur in areas north of New York City.

Overnight temperatures will barely dip into the 70s, so prepare for another hot, humid day on Monday, says Storm Team 4. And there will be a chance of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm.

Look for Monday morning to be a bit less humid, but a high of 92 degrees is forecast and it will feel like 100 degrees by midday, particularly in the city.

A heat advisory is in effect for the five boroughs from noon until 8 p.m. Monday.

A list of the city's cooling stations is available on the emergency management website here

The hot, humid weather pattern is expected to continue through the middle on the work week. A break in the pattern is possible on Thursday after a cold front sweeps through the area.
