New York Haunted House Named Among Scariest in Nation

An upstate New York haunted house was named among the five scariest haunted houses of 2015, according to a Halloween resource and online directory for haunted houses and activities.

HauntWorld released its list of the country’s most terrifying haunted houses for 2015 and Headless Horseman's Hayrides and Haunted Houses in Ulster Park came in at No. 2.

The frightening exhibit was the only New York-area haunted house to make the list, which was led by Haunted Overload in Lee, New Hampshire.

The Headless Horseman features a theatrical one-mile hayride, corn maze and seven haunted attractions that include The Lunar Motel, Glutton's Diner & Slaughter House, Slither's Pet Shop, Dark Harvest Corn Maze, Night Shade Nursery & Greenhouse, Dr. Dark's Black Spider Sideshow, The Feeding, Dahlia Blood's Manor, with skilled stunt actors and a magic-illusion sideshow, HauntWorld, which calls the program a "unique, immersive experience," says.

This year also features a real-life escape experience.

"Headless Horseman continually evolves with unusual monsters, amazing illusions, stunning special fx, unique and original costumes, makeup, animations and frightening detail created by our sister company American Made Monster Studios," HauntWorld wrote on its website. "Only the courageous will survive the intense encounters with the infamous Headless Horseman."
