Trump, Putin Had 2nd, Private Meeting at G-20 Summit
President Trump met with Russian President Putin a second time during the G-20 summit earlier this month, a White House official confirmed to NBC News. Trump spoke to Putin at the end of a couples-only social dinner at the summit in Hamburg, Germany, the official said. The pull-aside conversation is considered less formal than an official bilateral meeting, which Trump and Putin also shared at the summit. The White House did not previously disclose or offer a record of the meeting at the dinner, where Putin was seated next to first lady Melania Trump. The New York Times described it as a private, hourlong conversation and the contents of the meeting remain unknown.
Russian Developer's Staffer Also at Trump Tower Meeting
Revelations that a Russian developer's representative was the eighth attendee at a Trump Tower campaign meeting arranged by President Trump's eldest son prompted a new round of castigation from Democrats. It also brought word that the special counsel investigating possible Trump campaign ties to Russia wants more information about the sit-down. Officials from the office of special counsel Robert Mueller reached out over the weekend to a lawyer for Ike Kaveladze, who also goes by the name Irakly Kaveladze, attorney Scott Balber told The Associated Press. Kaveladze works for a Russian developer who once partnered with Trump to bring the Miss Universe pageant to Moscow. Balber's comments are the first public indication that Mueller is probing the June 2016 gathering in Trump's namesake New York City skyscraper. In emails, Trump Jr. enthusiastically agreed to the meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and others after he was promised dirt on his father's rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton. He has since denied such material ever materialized.
Justices Urged to Reject Trump Plea to Tighten Travel Ban

Opponents of President Trump's ban on refugees and visitors from six mostly Muslim countries are urging the Supreme Court to leave in place a federal judge's order that would relax restrictions on entry into the United States. The lead challengers say in a high court filing that the administration's argument in favor of a broader travel ban that excludes grandparents and grandchildren is "nonsense." Up to 24,000 refugees could be affected by the Supreme Court's decision. The administration is appealing a ruling from U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson that requires the government to allow in refugees formally working with a resettlement agency in the United States. Watson also vastly expanded the family relations that refugees and visitors can use to get into the country. Last month, the justices allowed the administration to partially reinstate a 90-day ban on visitors from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen and a 120-day ban on refugees from anywhere in the world.
Chipotle Restaurant Closed After Reports of Illness
Chipotle says it temporarily closed a restaurant in a Washington, D.C., suburb after reports that customers had become ill, marking a possible setback in the chain's efforts to recover from past food scares. The company says it shut down a location in Sterling, Virginia after becoming aware of a "small number" of reported illnesses. It says it is working with health authorities to understand the cause, but the reported symptoms are consistent with norovirus. Symptoms of norovirus include vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain. Chipotle says it plans to reopen the restaurant after a "complete sanitization." A Loudoun County health inspector at the restaurant said she believed the restaurant would not reopen. Other Chipotle locations in the D.C. area remain open.
Auction of Madonna's Panties, Love Letter From Tupac Halted
An impending auction of pop star Madonna's personal items, including a love letter from her ex-boyfriend the late rapper Tupac Shakur, a pair of previously worn panties and a hairbrush containing her hair, has been halted by a judge. Manhattan state Supreme Court Judge Gerald Leibovitz ordered Gotta Have It! Collectibles to pull 22 items from its rock-and-roll-themed auction. The Material Girl had earlier sought an emergency court order saying she was "shocked to learn" of the planned online auction of the Tupac letter and had no idea it was no longer in her possession. Court papers said the Tupac letter was expected to fetch up to $400,000. Tupac, one of the best-selling rappers of all time, dated Madonna in the early 1990s and died of injuries suffered in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting in 1996. Madonna, behind such hit songs as "Like a Virgin" and "Vogue," has sold hundreds of millions of albums.
Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton Announce Final Performance Together
Two of country music's biggest stars, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, whose onstage chemistry spawned hit duets like "Islands in the Stream" and "Real Love," will be making their final performance together this year. Rogers, who is retiring from touring, says his final performance with Parton will be part of an all-star farewell show to be held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 25. The two have been performing together for more than 30 years since "Islands in the Stream," written by the Bee Gees, became a pop crossover platinum hit in 1983. Other performers for the farewell show are Little Big Town, Flaming Lips, Idina Menzel, Elle King, Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss. Rogers made the announcement at a press conference in Nashville.
