Giuliani Top Trump Pick

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has emerged as the favorite to serve as secretary of state in Donald Trump's incoming administration, a senior Trump official said on Monday -- another indication the president-elect is putting a prize on loyalty as he narrows down his Cabinet picks. Trump was also considering Monday whether to inject new diversity into the GOP by recommending a woman to lead the Republican Party and an openly gay man to represent the United States at the United Nations. The moves, among dozens under consideration from his transition team, follow an intense and extended backlash from Trump's decision on Sunday to appoint Steve Bannon, a man celebrated by the white nationalist movement, to serve as his chief strategist and senior adviser.

Trump Dominates Obama Trip

President Obama's final foreign tour as president will be dominated by questions and concerns about President-elect Donald Trump. Obama arrived in Greece Tuesday morning amid tight security. He is scheduled to meet with President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and then tour the Acropolis and give a major speech about democracy and globalization before flying on to Berlin on Wednesday. On Monday, Obama abandoned his dire warnings and dark predictions about his newly elected successor and urged Americans to give President-elect Donald Trump time to rise to the daunting responsibilities of the office, breaking sharply from his Democratic allies who have quickly condemned Trump's first major decisions.

Cuomo Posts Subway Sticky

Gov. Cuomo joined thousands of other people in placing a sticky note on a Manhattan subway station wall expressing his thoughts about the presidential election. This is what he said.

Police Searches in Tri-State

Police are searching for the father of a 5-year-old girl who was found abandoned inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal Monday morning after her mother was found killed in Connecticut, police say. A Port Authority police officer spotted the girl alone on the second-floor concourse Monday morning. Meanwhile, police say a 4-year-old girl has been located and her alleged abductor taken into custody after the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office activated a Virginia Amber Alert for her on Monday. Police said the girl was in extreme danger.

NYC Woman Sues Zara Over Rat

A Manhattan woman is suing Spanish fashion retailer Zara after she says she found a rat sewn into a dress she bought at one of their stores. In a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court last week, 24-year-old Cailey Fiesel says that she not only suffered emotional distress but was diagnosed with a rodent-born disease after wearing the dress. Zara said it’s investigating.

Depression Worsens in Teens

More and more teens say they've had serious depression, researchers reported Monday. But more are not being treated for it. The troubling trend suggests doctors are afraid to ask about and treat depression, which is a major cause of suicide, the researchers said. Whites and especially white girls were the most vulnerable to a major depressive episode, researchers found. It's not clear why, but they have some guesses.
