A Queens school was briefly placed on lockdown after a BB gun was found nearby, an official with the school safety agents union says.
The BB gun scare happened inside JHS 231 in Springfield Gardens, according to Gregory Floyd, president of Local 237, the school safety agents union.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Education said the lockdown was lifted after police recovered the BB gun near the building, and that students and staff are safe.
