Suspect in Deadly Shooting of 14-Year-Old Girl on Queens Bus Caught in South Carolina: Sources

Daja Robinson was killed May 18 when a bullet went through the window of the bus she was riding

The 21-year-old suspect wanted in connection with the deadly shooting of a 14-year-old girl on a Queens bus last month has been taken into custody in South Carolina, law enforcement sources said.

Authorities say Kevin McClinton was apprehended without incident by U.S. Marshals, NYPD officers and members of the regional fugitive task force Tuesday morning. He is expected to return to New York to face charges.

Police have said the May 18 shooting was believed to be a dispute between gang members, and the bullet accidentally went through the window of the bus and hit Daja Robinson in the head.

Police had previously questioned a teenager in connection with the shooting. It's not clear what the teenager's perceived role was in the shooting.

Robinson was on her way home from a sweet 16 party, police said. She was sitting about three rows from the back of the bus when she was struck.
