Looking for a way to beat the heat? A water slide that stretches over several blocks might do the trick.
Slide the City, known for bringing massive slicked slides to cities across the country, is hosting slip-and-slide events to New Jersey, New York and Connecticut this summer.
The first event will be in downtown Stamford, Connecticut, on July 17. Then, on Aug. 20, a second event will be hosted near the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.
Finally, Slide the City will bring a slide to Main Street in Nyack, New York, on Aug. 27.
Tickets can be purchased online for a few or unlimited rides on the slides.
All attendees are lent an inflated tube and given a drawstring bag with a mouth guard. Tubes can be purchased for $2. Participants must be over 46 inches tall and at least 5 years old.
Appropriate swimwear and shoes are required. “Slide the City” suggests bringing money for food trucks and merchandise.
