Traffic is tied up on the George Washington Bridge after a tractor-trailer carrying steel beams lost its load at the tollbooths on the New Jersey side of the bridge.
The Port Authority says the steel beams fell off the truck with a loud clang and blocked one of the toll lanes Monday morning.
A toll booth operator was taken to the hospital complaining of a ringing in the ears caused by the sound of the beams.
Five toll lanes are closed and seven are open.
