Report of Gas Leak in Midtown Appears to Be False Alarm

A report of a possible gas leak in midtown Manhattan Tuesday appeared to be a false alarm.

Fire officials say crews were on the scene at 50th Street and Lexington Avenue by 9:30 a.m., about 10 minutes after the call came in about a possible leak.

One fire truck was at the scene but there did not appear to be a leak. Firefighters were seen helping one woman who tripped and fell on the sidewalk, however.
