Funeral Service Set for Kayaker Allegedly Killed by Fiancee

A funeral service has been set for a 46-year-old upstate New York man allegedly murdered by his fiancee in the Hudson River.

The service for Vincent Viafore will be held June 27th at St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie.

Viafore's fiancee, Angelika Graswald, is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in his death. Authorities say she allegedly killed him by tampering with his kayak and paddle on April 19th in the Hudson River.

Viafore's body wasn't found until May 23rd.

Graswald has pleaded not guilty and is in Orange County Jail on $3 million cash bail or $9 million bond.

Viafore spent more than 20 years with the state Office of General Services Design and Construction Department as a certified code enforcement official and a senior project manager.
