A basketball trainer suspected of killing a man in Delaware might be hiding out in New York City, law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York.
52-year-old Gregory Parker has been on the run from authorities since January, when 47-year-old Shawn Spence was found dead death in Parker's home in New Castle.
Authorities said that Parker was responsible for the killing on Jan. 28, and he hasn't been seen since. A warrant for his arrest, on a murder charge, was issued not long after Spence's killing.
Sources say Parker went to John Bowe High School in Queens and played basketball there. He also has significant ties to Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Parker ran basketball clinics in Delaware but didn't have a car, according to authorities. So it's not entirely clear how he would have made the 120-mile trek to the five boroughs.
Parker is described as a bald man with brown eyes standing 6-foot-8 and weighing approximately 225 pounds. U.S. Marshals are working to track the man down.
