Police have released a sketch of a man they say attempted to rape a 17-year-old girl in a Queens park in August.

The assault happened at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 21 inside Peck Park in Fresh Meadows, police said. The man, believed to be in his 40s to 50s, approached the girl, knocked her to the ground and attempted to rape her. 

The victim kicked her attacker in the chest and was able to flee. 

The attempted rapist is about 5 feet 11 inches and 225 pounds, police say. He spoke with an eastern European accent.

Police said the victim only came forward recently to report the rape attempt.
