Fort Drum Soldier Arrested on Child Porn Charge

A New York man faces child porn charges after he unwittingly traded sexually explicit Internet messages with the mother of a 13-year-old girl.

Investigators say the mom was reviewing her daughter's MySpace page when she started getting messages from a soldier at Fort Drum.

According to prosecutors, the mother realized the man thought he was writing to her daughter and played along.

She warned him she was only 13. Prosecutors say he responded by sending her a lurid photograph and asking her to meet him.

A subsequent sting by base authorities led to the arrest Friday of Richard Coleman.

He is charged with enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity. He was also charged with child porn possession after investigators found illicit images on his computer.

The name of his lawyer was not immediately available.
