A former basketball coach already convicted in New York state court for sexual assaults on children has been sentenced in federal court on similar charges to 50 years in prison.
The U.S. attorney's office said 60-year-old Richard Dinizo of Cortlandt Manor was sentenced in White Plains on Tuesday after pleading guilty to abusing seven children under 11 years old.
Prosecutors say Dinizo recorded the abuse and transported the videos out of state. They say he blindfolded the children.
In February of last year, Dinizo was sentenced to 25 years to life for sex acts with three grade-school girls after pleading guilty in state court.
State prosecutors said Dinizo had coached at various schools and leagues but had not coached the girls involved.
