1 Seriously Hurt in Floor Collapse After Filling Tub

The floor collapsed after an occupant of the second-floor apartment apparently filled a bathtub with water

One person was seriously injured after the second floor of an apartment collapsed in Upper Manhattan.      

Fire officials say the victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition after the Tuesday accident in Hamilton Heights.      

Local media reported that the collapse occurred after an occupant of the second-floor apartment had filled the bathtub with water.

The occupant, a 58-year-old man, fell to the first floor.      

The buildings department is investigating the cause of the collapse.
