1 Injured in High Rise Fire on Upper West Side

A fire on the terrace of a high-rise building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan Saturday afternoon left one person injured, officials said.

Billowing black smoke was seen pouring out of the 21st floor of the building on Riverside Boulevard near 65th Street just before 1 p.m.

The FDNY confirmed that the fire started on the terrace and was quickly contained.

No word yet on the extent of the person's injuries or the cause of the fire.

FDNY officials initially referred to the building as a "Trump Tower," but the building is called The Avery and does not appear to have a connection to Donald Trump. Several nearby buildings are known as Trump Place.
