Massive Fire Roars Through NJ Condo Complex

Authorities were still working Sunday to determine what sparked the multialarm blaze at the Union Hill complex in Union Township

A fast-moving fire severely damaged or destroyed more than a dozen units at a New Jersey condominium complex, displacing numerous residents but causing no injuries.

Authorities were still working Sunday to determine what sparked the multialarm blaze at the Union Hill complex in Union Township.

The fire was reported around 6:50 p.m. Saturday and burned for several hours before it was brought under control. Authorities say that roughly 15 of the building's 18 units sustained some type of damage.

Dozens of firefighters battled the fire, but their efforts were hampered by strong, gusty winds that reached up to 50 MPH and blew the flames across rooftops.

The displaced residents were taken a shelter and were being assisted by the American Red Cross.
