Father Suspected in Deaths of 2 Daughters Arrested in Texas: NYPD

Miguel Mejia-Ramos was captured at a vehicle roadblock in Schulenburg, Texas

A father suspected in the stabbing deaths of his two young daughters and their mother in Queens has been arrested in Texas, the NYPD said.

Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, was captured early Tuesday at a vehicle roadblock in Schulenburg, Texas, which is between Houston and San Antonio.

Investigators had tracked his location by "pinging" his cell phone, according to the Fayette County Sherriff's Office. Mejia-Ramos is also known as Alex Jiminez, they said.

Police found the bodies of his daughters, 2-year-old Daniela Mejia and 1-year-old Yaslin Mejia, and their mother, 21-year-old Deisy Garcia, in a bedroom of their apartment on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica on Sunday evening.

Garcia and Daniela both had multiple stab wounds to their torsos, police said. Yaslin was stabbed several times in the chest.
