    Your Fall Foliage Guide in the Tri-State

    Raphael Miranda shares the best places in the region to see trees in their brilliant fall colors. (Published Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017)

    It may feel like summer, but the trees have started turning brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow -- if you know where to look. 

    Meteorologist Raphael Miranda says leaf peepers won't find the fall colors around New York, Long Island or the Jersey Shore just yet. 

    However, some areas north and west of the city are already at high and even peak colors. 

    Right now, look for the colors in Sullivan and Ulster counties and into the Catskills. 

    The trees are also brillaint in northwest New Jersey, Pike County, Pennsylvania, and the Poconos. 

    The colors are just starting to transition in Dutches and Fairfield counties, so keep an eye on those areas coming up.
